Since
1898
The history of the Roqueta family is closely
tied to that of the region of Bages. The Roqueta family itself
dates back to the 12th century, but records point to their
working the vines as far back as in Roman times.
In 1898, driven by his family’s long dedication to
the cultivation of the vine and innate passion for the art
of wine making, Ramón RoquetaTorrentó opened
a retail establishment in Manresa to enable customers to
purchase wines under the best of conditions. Bodegas Roqueta
was just the beginning of an era to be dominated by a single
goal – to adapt to changing needs and combine the family’s
vast experience with the new technologies that were on their
way.
Four
generations dedicated to wine
Ramón Roqueta, founder of Bodegas Roqueta was succeeded by his son Valentín
Roqueta Prat in 1938. Valentín’s son, Ramón Roqueta Roqueta,
is now the President of the company, which is managed by his own son Valentín
Roqueta Guillamet, thus confirming a passion for wine which spans four whole
generations.
Four generations united by an absolute devotion to the production and retail
of wines, and an undying loyalty to the roots of their family and land, despite
setbacks, ever-increasing competition and industry reforms.
